The Gold Dress Trick ✨💫

Let’s talk about the Academy’s! No, not the La La Land and Moonlight mixup but rather the dresses. It’s just funny how this article pointed out one thing in common about the Best Actress winners and their dresses based on their investigation for the last 13 years. Granted, metallic dresses is for sure one way to stand out in this prestigious awarding ceremony but did you know that from the said article – simply put, wearing gold is the way to bag that coveted Best Actress award. Lol! And I’m so happy for Emma Stone (Yes, the way her ex-Andrew teared up when she accepted her award. That happy. Lol!)

Anyway, this isn’t the first time I wore something Oscars or Emma-inspired to be specific (if you look at this post from years ago, so long ago I know!) but I decided to take out my sequined white jumpsuit yesterday because it’s so shiny and glitzy and can easily be toned down to make it work appropriate. It’s also supposed to be part of my previous post where I tackled fashion myths. Yes, sparkly dresses are not reserved for night dressing anymore too! ;)

Added up a trench coat in the look below and I didn’t have so much photos but it’s the same dress here and here. :) I wonder where though will this outfit make me win? Haha! Congratulations to all the Academy awards winners!

Fashion Myths

Are you still subscribing to fashion myths? The fashion myths that are listed here are somewhat old fashion rules that some may find themselves still subscribing to. I lifted some bullets from this reference article and put together these looks to add proof how archaic they are.

Avoid Black & Navy Together. Honestly, I'm not so aware of this rule until I came across it in the said article. But black and navy combo is one of the chicest ever. You don't even have to know about that rule.

No White After Labor Day. For a little background of this rule, you may check my previous post about this here. This is just a reinforcement that this really doesn't apply today anymore.

Mixing Prints is a No-No. It's not guaranteed that it will always look cool but if you stick to the guidelines as I have discussed here, you'll look cool!

You Shouldn't Wear Socks With Sandals. Well, let's just say that my Valentine's Day didn't "sock" because of these fishnet additions. Haha!

Your Accessories Need to Match. Admit it, playing matchy matchy all the time sometimes feel boring already. Mixing things up a bit keeps your look interesting.

Apologies for the utter lack of posts this week. Here's a preview of my looks in Tokyo since I know that it will take time for me to post  them in detail. Haha! Enjoy the gallery below 😁

Cold Spell ❄️️

Bes, sobrang lamig lately.  It’s true. Weather is one of the things people complain about way too often. Haha. We Filipinos are often conditioned that “ber” months are supposedly the coldest months but we’re not prepared for these brrr weeks happening in the country lately what with new record-low temperatures recorded in different cities due to the Northeast Monsoon (7 deg in Baguio!!! Awesome!!!) For the last two days for example, I would purposely get out of the office just to expose myself to sunlight because it’s just too abnormally chilly in the office. 😷

But in any case, the proper solution as always is to dress accordingly. Isn’t it nice? I don't have to go to Baguio to pull off some of my winter stuff, haha! I can wear three layers whenever I want and discover re-wear potential of some of my stuff so totes not complaining here. Haha! So here's how I inject some of my winter accessories into my daily outfits though. P.S. You’ll see them too in my winter trip sometime next week. 😉 Plus, I'm doing a product review for an accessory below. Keep on reading. 🙂

Hats. It's not a secret that anything that has a French touch to it is a must in my wardrobe and this iconic staple is not an exception. I have been in the lookout for a good beret for long and Rosegal has just what I've been looking for. Having this piece in my head, it's not very hard to understand how the French women adapted this to iconic heights. It has a snug fit and can be rotated into different angles for your dramatic needs. And let's not forget, the wool material is an excellent protection from cold, wind and the rain. Very functional indeed.

KL Tower 🗼

Being the fourth tallest telecommunication tower of the world, the Kuala Lumpur tower offers the best 360-degree view of the city. It is shorter than the famous Petronas towers but it has the advantage of being situated on top of a hill.

I've been here maybe 6 years ago for snacks at the revolving restaurant. But I just had to go back this time to check out their newest attraction found at the open deck - the sky box. In here, only a glass separates you and the ground 1400 ft below. 😱😱😱

We had a swell time having our photo-op and looking at the scopes at the observation deck. It was a good way to end our work trip in KL. 😁😁😁

Low Block Heel

First business trip for the year, second time in KL for 2017 and forever organizing my business trip looks in just one item. This time around it's these low block heel pumps that looks very pretty in its ribbon details. I've really come to that age where the heels doesn't matter anymore and comfort is now the priority. 🙈

I traveled with the same people from work this time and the upgrade of our suites to an executive one (just had to take a photo in the room below) motivated us so much 😂 to finish our work ahead of time so that come last day of our trip, we had a chance to squeeze in a city attraction before leaving Malaysia, truly Asia. 😛
